From seaside drone art to an impassioned march through stadium architectures to a synchronized Souq Waqif clean-up crew, filmmakers Bentley Brown (USA/Chad) and Ibrahim Mursal (Sudan/Somalia/Norway) present an audiovisual dive into the revelry of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Drawing on their experiences in past poetic documentary works that have screened at Ars Electronica, Berlinale, and IFFR, the duo critically explores, through a sequence of visuals and conversations, the very nature of spectacle, political orchestration, and the decentering of power away from the West.
